Scientific Research

Our group mainly focuses on bioanalytical technology for basic studies and applications. We apply fundamental principles of molecular biology, chemistry, and nanomaterial to develop innovative nano-bio probes, biosensing mechanisms, and devices to advance a variety of areas including biomedical diagnosis, environmental monitoring, and food security.

Currently, we strive to make significant contributions in the following research topics.

*      Novel signal amplification strategy

We rationally design various enzyme-assisted target recycling and regeneration strategies to improve the sensitivity and stability of biosensors. Particularly, we develop novel isothermal biosensors for point-of-care diagnosis.

*      Bio-inspired assembly and nanotechnology

In molecular engineering, we take advantage of functional biomolecules (such as DNA, peptide) as the building block to develop novel nano-bio probe for advanced bioanalytical applications in biosensors for detecting biomarkers such as circulating nucleic acids.
