Abstract

Biomimetic and bioactive materials always are highly attractive for tissue repair and regeneration. Tissue-derived biologic materials contain mimetic structures and specific extracellular matrix (ECM) components with corresponded tissues, showing highly bioactivity, and they can be achieved through decellularization. They have been widely used for various tissue and organ regeneration. However, they have obvious limits in mechanics, degradation, and recellularization. In this talk, the biological ECM materials are further processed into the solution by enzyme digestion and forms injectable hydrogels, which allows minimally invasive surgery and cell encapsulation. This digested biological materials can be further used in other morphologies for disease treatment, and also can be combined with other materials for tissue repair.
