Prof. Gabriel Nunez visited SKLBE

   On September 5, Professor Gabriel Nunez (University of Michigan) was appointed as Visiting Professor of East China University of Science and Technology. Professor Zhong Xin, Vice President of ECUST, presented letter of appointment to Professor Gabriel Nunez. Huifeng Wang, Director of Personnel Service, Professors of School of Bioengineering, Bing Lu, Yuanxing Zhang, Qin Liu, Shu Quan and graduate students attended the award ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Qiyao Wang, deputy director of School of Bioengineering and Professor Qin Liu introduced Professor Gabriel Nunez of his academic achievement.

    After the ceremony, Professor Nunez gave a research talk entitled "Control of pathogens by immunity and the microbiota at the intestinal barrier". He introduced the competitive relationship between the intestinal microorganisms and pathogens, host immune response, co-regulation mechanism about the host adaptive immune response and intestinal flora.
